ARTONE ENGLISH VINTAGE CHARACTER MINIATURE JUG

This Cute Hand Painted Miniature Character Jug of "A Sweet Little Old Lady" was manufactured by The Artone Pottery, Burslem, Staffordshire, England. This pottery company began 1946 and existed until 1993 This specific jug was made about 1946. It is hand painted in polychrome colors of black, green and purple.

It measures 1 3/4" High from the base to the lip. The Diameter measures 1”; the Diameter from the back to the lip measures 1 1/2”.

HISTORY OF ARTONE POTTERY

This studio pottery company was formed on the Ellgreave Pottery site which had been in existence since 1921 which was located in Burslem, Staffordshire District of England. Artone Pottery leased part of the facility in 1946 which was owned by the Wood family. The pottery continued until 1993 when Artone ceased to exist.
