Huntley & Palmer Vintage Royalty Biscuit Tin Queen Elizabeth [SOLD]

This Royalty Biscuit Tin was manufactured by the renowned Huntley & Palmer Biscuit Company of Reading & London England. It measures 7” Diameter by 3 1/4” High and dates circa 1953-1955. It depicts Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip. The tin is a turquoise blue lithograph that also depicts: Palace Holyrood, Windsor Castle, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. In addition, it depicts the emblems of Sarawak, Singapore, Bermuda, Canada, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, South Rhodesia, Malta, Jamaica, Gibralta and Malaya.

COMMENT: For those fans of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth, this is an affordable piece of memorabilia.

HISTORY OF HUNTLEY & PALMER BISCUIT COMPANY:

Huntley & Palmer Biscuit Company was one of the world’s most famous companies during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Huntley & Palmers was founded in 1822. During the next 150 years, it came to be "The Most Famous Biscuit Company in the World." As global trade and travel expanded during the industrial revolution and Britain developed the largest Empire the world had ever known, so did this famous company grow, until it became world-renowned for being "Number One in Biscuits and Second-to-None in Cakes." A man by the name of Joseph Huntley, supported by his son Thomas, opened a shop in Reading, Berkshire, from where he started selling biscuits and confectionery. After 19 successful years he was joined by his cousin George Palmer. Together, they created a business which, at its peak, was trading in 137 countries. Huntley & Palmers success wasn’t just based on producing unique, top-quality products. The brand’s packaging, especially with its tins, and its advertising also achieved unsurpassed standards of excellence and the company won many gold awards at trade fairs in the decades before and after 1900.

CONDITION: Considering its age, this lovely Royalty tin is in considerably good condition. It has some wear and very light surface scratching to the lithograph print. This was taken into consideration with its historical value while pricing this “Royalty” collectible. Therefore this item is being offered to you in "as is" condition. Besides most of these old tins are seldom mint condition.
