Stevenson and was located in East Liverpool, Ohio and operated there from 1880-1889; upon which time there after relocated to Grapeville, Pennsylvania in 1889 and joined with James H. Brainard. There, they operated together until 1924 at which time the company changed name and became simply known as Westmoreland Glass Co. from there on the company went through different partnerships. As we approach the Depression Era, the factory fell on hard times with different partnerships and internal administration turmoil.
For the first 40 years the company produced most of its affordable color glass ware. Milk glass hens were their specialty; after 1954 onward over 90% of their glassware production was milk glass which eventually led to their demise and closure in 1984.
