ROSEVILLE POTTERY VINTAGE ART DECO VASE BLEEDING HEARTS [SOLD]
This vintage art deco pottery vase was manufactured by the famous Roseville Pottery Company, Ohio, USA and dates 1938. The pattern is identified as Bleeding Hearts.

This lovely vintage American art pottery vase is "V" shaped with a terrace shaped handle on each side. The top opening is hexagonal. Bleeding Heart is a late period line introduced by Roseville Pottery in 1938. Standard colors include green, pink and blue in a matte finish. Bleeding Heart is marked with the raised Roseville script mark which is illustrated in the accompanying photos with the shape number 962-5, and size which is 5". While there is collector interest in all three colors of Bleeding Heart, blue is valued highest among many pottery collectors.
COMMENT: This is simply a very attractive and affordable collector piece of Roseville in the Floral line of their wares which was extremely popular upon it's production.
MANUFACTURER: Roseville Pottery Company. In 1892 George F. Young founded The Roseville Pottery Company in Zanesville, Ohio. In 1917 Frank Ferrel became art director until the closure in 1954. In 1954 Roseville Pottery was sold to New England Ceramics and afterward to Franklin Potteries. This marked the end to this American pottery company.
