This Semi-Porcelain Plate was executed by Salem Pottery Company, Ohio, USA approximately 1945 and measures 10" Diameter. It is partial Transfer Print with dashes of hand painting overglaze.
The Central Spray of Blue & Pink Roses is accentuated by a lavish wide band of cobalt blue (on the border) with ornately applied 23 Kt. Gold gilded scroll work.
COMMENT: Originally this plate was part of a dinner set, however today many people use plates such as this one simply as decorative. Because of the lavish gold gilding and cobalt, it may be used as accent piece in a china cabinet or simply as a nice plate to be placed upon a little sideboard or occasional table.
CONDITION: It is in very good condition save for a little rubbing or wear to the gold gilded scroll work in the border and minimal wear to the floral central scene.
