This Vintage Art Deco Bone China Jam Pot was manufactured by George Jones, Crescent Pottery, Stoke, Staffordshire Potteries, England. The company operated at this location from 1907-1957. The size measures 4 3/4" High by 2 3/4" Diameter.
This example of fine bone china exhibits exquisite hand painted roses divided by black vertical lines on an exuberant yellow and white background. The bone china pot sets eloquently in a graceful silver plated holder.
The holder has very beautiful handles and stands on three ball feet. It approximately dates 1930’s according to the crescent mark. As any collector knows, George Jones was a very renowned manufacturer of very fine wares including his famous majolica wares.
COMMENT: The combination of color and silver form of this Jam Pot has that great Art Deco exuberance that can add a sparkle of sophistication to any breakfast table.
CONDITION: Excellent! There is no wear to the floral hand paintined floral decoration. Considering that this fragile piece has lasted some seventy to eighty years, it is still in excellent condition and has been cared for and cherished over the years. This piece still wishes to be loved and cared for in years to come! The nickel silver holder shines up brilliantly.
