GROSVENOR BONE CHINA VINTAGE CUP AND SAUCER GREEN

This Delightful English Vintage Bone China Cup & Saucer was manufactured by The Jackson & Gosling Co., (Ltd.), Grosvenor Works, Staffordshire, England and dates approximately 1919-1924. 

The cup & saucer has a wide band of apple green upon which there are hand painted multi-color floral sprigs which pronounce the hand painted rose & floral center.

HISTORYOF JACKSON &GOSLING (GROSVENOR CHINA): Grosvenor China was the trade name of a firm called Jackson & Gosling (Ltd) of Grosvenor Works, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. It was established 1866 in Fenton and the Longton address dates from 1909.

The association with Copeland/Spode began in the early 1930s when Arthur Edward Hewitt, of Grosvenor China, was appointed as a director of Copelands. Copelands purchased Grosvenor China and the combined company was incorporated as W. T. Copeland & Sons Ltd in 1932.

Jackson & Gosling China Company closed in 1969 and the trade name was no longer used.
