This Dazzling Cut Glass Dessert Handled Nappy is from The American/Canadian Brilliant Cut Glass Era. Although it carries no signature, we believe it to be from the Clapperton factory of Desoronto, Ontario and dates 1905, shortly after his departure from the Libbey factory in Toledo, Ohio. This nappy measures 7 1/2" Wide (from tip of handle to the front); and 6” Diameter by 1 3/6” Depth or Height. The design is that of looped Gothic arches with hobstars inside the arches as well as a hobstar center. It has exquisite cutting and a clear blank. Again, this little jewel was found at a Toronto show exhibit.

COMMENT: This Brilliant Cut Glass Nappy is A Shimmering Little Jewel that is just waiting to give that Zestful Sparkle to The China Cabinet or Dining Table.  Just A Little Charmer! A Delightful Dessert in this Little Nappy would be Simply Delicious!

SIDE NOTE: Originally these little dishes were used for ice cream which was a little luxury of the time, or for fruit. They were never intended for use as a bonbon dish, as some dealers sell them as. Originally they were produced in sets of six or eight, and usually were accompanied by an ice cream tray, or berry bowl which usually measured 7”-8” in diameter. Of course over the years most of these sets strayed and are seldom found together as complete sets, and if so, many of the nappies have little chips or bruising.

CONDITION: BTEF condition! Absolutely no damage!
