This Delightful Canadian Brilliant Period Cut Glass Dresser Tray was made by Gowans & Kent and carries The Trademark “Elite” inside A Maple Leaf. It measures 12” Length by 6 3/4” Width by 1 1/2" Depth/Height and dates circa 1910-1915. This cut glass dresser tray has cut and engraved English daisies as its central motif punctuated by a leaf design around the saw tooth rim.
This piece was cut during what some dealers refer to as, the “Naturals” or “Intaglio” Period in cut glass making, being that of “floral” rather than “geometric” design.
COMMENT: This Brilliant Cut Glass Tray makes An Elegant Accessory for The Vanity on which to display ones Prized Perfume Decanters! On the other hand, it can make a classy addition to the dessert table for serving delicious pastries.
CONDITION: EF condition except for very minor roughness on saw tooth rim which is acceptable for a cut glass price of this vintage; and one saw tooth has a small flake on the inside.
