This Charming And Distinctive Vintage Costume Simulated Pearl Brooch with its scroll sides and ornate frame in which the pearl rests definitely sets this brooch apart from many others and makes it a winner. It has rich hues of honey gold on a gold toned base metal and carries the initials “A.J.C.” for the American Jewelry Chain Company which began in 1927 and operated until 1997. It measures 2 3/4" Length by 1/2" Width.
COMMENT: This Brooch Is A Winner! It is simply tasteful and can be worn casually either on a sweater or dinner jacket.
CONDITION: It is in very good condition except for a very minor flaking of the gold plating at one end of the brooch near the curled section of the brooch which is illustrated at the left side if you look at it from front on. It is truly barely noticeable unless brought to attention. A minor gold touch up is in order.
It is normal for such vintage jewelry to show some minor surface wear to the metal backing. In the trade such condition is known as "patina." Afterall, this is not "new" jewelry and it has been worn on many occasions over the years. A certain amount of wear is acceptable and should be expected.
