This Ornately Hand Chased Antique Two Piece Carving Fish Set is possibly of Sheffield, England origin. The chased work is that of a fern leaf motif. Both pieces are executed on a nickel silver base metal with French Ivory handles and are accompanied by their original patent leather box. The Fork measures 9 1/2" Length; the Knife measures 12 1/2” Length. The box measures 14” Long by 1 1/4" High by 4 1/2” Wide.
COMMENT: For Distinction, Those Were The Days Of Formal Dining When Such A Set Would Have Graced Many A Dining Table While Serving Fish!
PHOTOGRAPHY COMMENT: The cracks on both pieces are on the undersides. No photos of this imperfection are available at this time. Photos of this condition will be inserted at a later date or upon request. Our apologies are extended at this time.
CONDITION: Unfortunately each piece has a substantial crack in the French Ivory Handles. Such a result could have been caused by exposure to heat or extreme cold as is the case quite often with older French ivory handles on such pieces. Still there is an aesthetic beauty and character beheld by those pieces.
