These Funky Pottery Red Tomato Salt & Pepper Shakers are manufactured in Japan and date approximately 1953-1960.They measure 1 3/4" High by 1 1/2" Diameter.
They are marked “JAPAN” on the bottom with a decal sticker marked “TORONTO CANADA” over a maple leaf. Each shaker is painted in a rich red enameled color with green leaf tops.
COMMENT: A great decorative item for a colorful kitchen that has a fun vintage salt and pepper collection! Tomato Ware is very collectable and highly sought; it is very desirable to the avid collector. Prices for this kind of ware is reasonably high and is holding steady for vintage pieces.
CONDITION: This pair of salt and pepper shakers is in great condition except for a little rubbing or wear on the applied maple leaf decals. For this "tomato ware", such wear is normal to see when decals are factory applied overglaze. Therefore we are offering these shakers in "as is" condition.
