English Antique Silverplate Egg Cup And Spoon Set

This Very Elegant & Tasteful Antique Silverplate Egg Holder Set is electroplated on a copper base and was manufactured in England approximately 1910. The tray measures 8” Long by 6 1/4" Wide by 6" Height and sits on four “bun” feet. It is very ornate in design.

This Sophisticated Silverplate Egg Serving Set consists of six egg cups and six spoons which are also very ornate. The egg cups and tray have nice weight attesting to the good quality of the silversmith at the time of manufacture. This set is a marriage of two different patterns of egg cups; however they are a close match. The spoons are very petite and are very attractive in their ornate design and match quite well.

COMMENT: Such Sweet Little Silverplate Egg Sets are not easily found as a complete ensemble. This lovely set most definitely sets the mood for a pleasant or quaint family breakfast. Definitely a classy way to entertain house guests!

CONDITION: Overall condition is fine. We do however, from close inspection, suspect that the holder or handle has been replaced over the years; however, it is barely noticeable and can be re-silvered so as to completely match. The holder or handle appears to have its silver worn from being handled or picked up on an often basis, which is normal wear over the years. The other minor problem is that one of the plugs that holds the egg cup in place is severed and needs to be welded. It is not missing. Taking into consideration these defects, we have priced accordingly. Therefore this set is being offered in "as is" condition.
