COMMENT: This Is Bond Boyd At One Of His Most Extravagant And Imaginative Moments In Jewelry Design And Holds True To The Art Deco Movement!

This is one of the most unique and finest examples of Bond Boyd jewelry that we have found in many years. A true collector piece!

HISTORY OF BOND BOYD JEWELRY Many jewelry dealers who have researched jewelry have not arrived with much accurate information about Bond Boyd. Some jewelry researchers seem to say that the company was out of business around 1991. Such is not the case! The real history of BOND BOYD is that it began in 1940 in Toronto, Ontario and is still presently in business.

It was always a family run business that had hired out various designers and had perfected many smaller pieces of dainty jewelry that were designed and quality controlled with the corporate woman in mind.

Most of the gems used were small semi precious stones that were usually round cut and were either bezel set or prong set. Many of their pieces were worked in a medium of sterling. Some of the sterling pieces had a gold wash applied over the sterling base which is known as gold lemay or vermeil. This, over the process of time and amount of usage, had a tendency to become dull or show the sterling bleeding through. However some of Bond Boyd pieces were actually 22Kt. or 24Kt. gold plated over a sterling base metal.

CONDITION: Overall condition is great except upon close inspection with a jeweler's loop, some wear to the crystal stones is evident.

It is normal for such vintage jewelry to show some minor surface wear. In the trade such condition is known as "patina." Afterall, this is not "new" jewelry and it has been worn on many occasions over the years. A certain amount of wear is acceptable and should be expected.
