VICTORIAN ANTIQUE TIGER OAK DOUBLE MIRROR TWO DOOR ARMOIRE [SOLD]
This fabulous authentic antique tiger oak double mirror two door armoire was manufactured during the late Victorian era and dates approximately 1880-1900.
The charisma of the Victorian era is exemplified in this magnificent genuine antique tiger oak armoire. Its stately presence is accentuated by its top ornate scrolls. Quality beveled mirrored doors with this elaborate scroll work exonerate this piece to its apex. It has fabulous quality construction. Both sides are thick paneled and it has a great paneled back construction. There is also a deep long bottom drawer which measures 9" deep (top to bottom) by 42" long (left to right). All solid brass hardware is original and is in great condition. This armoire is by the way one piece of furniture. Many large armoires are constructed in two pieces for easy disassemble while moving. It has four original metal casters. It is either of American or Canadian manufacture. Attribution is not really possible because there are no identifying company paper or metal labels. Usually paper labels went missing over the years.
COMMENT: This genuine antique Victorian tiger oak armoire is most definitely a charming accent piece that has a stately presence worthy of any magnificent home. A great accent piece that can easily greet one in a grand hall entrance or a large bedroom! One does not have to be a collector of antiques in order to appreciate such a magnificent decorative piece. The applied elaborate scroll work really accents the beauty of this armoire.

CONDITION: Left door upper left corner had a 45 degree angle crack which has been restored. Beveled mirror in left door needs replacement which measures .25" width (thickness) with a 1" beveled outer edge which is equivalent to the original mirror in the right hand door. Right side mirror is the original. Since this is an apparent necessary replacement, it does not drastically devalue the piece. It is quite normal to either have replacement mirrors or re-silvered mirrors in antique pieces. The quotation for a replacement beveled mirror of same caliber is approximately $235.00-$250.00. Consequently this has been taken into consideration whilst establishing a fair market price.
