WHO WAS ANGELICA KAUFFMANN?
Angelica Kauffman was Swiss Neoclassical painter 1741-1807, who painted in the Rococo style and whose works have been widely reproduced. She was a child prodigy and well-known by the age of 11 for her artistic and musical talents. The world was in love with her paintings and consequently many European factories transferred and hand painted her scenes onto porcelains and used her signature. This was a very vogue practice during the Art Nouveau Period (1880-1920) in Europe.
