    • The scenes on each side of the lamp are different.
    • The ground color of the lamp, known as Rouge Royal, is accented with a lavish intricate gold gilded design on each side.

COMMENT: These mythological scenes have a regal presence and are sought avidly by many collectors of fine porcelains throughout the world. These scenes are referred to as Angelica Kauffman scenes by many collectors irrespective of having a signature. This scene is not signed.

This lamp with its stately elegance is most deserving of a regal household where other fancy world porcelains are on display and would be indeed a welcoming home for this jewel to feel welcomed. Again, this is not to say that it would not enjoy itself in a stately home of luxury. It is a sophisticated proud lamp that can easily grace any home. Compliments galore will be generated upon the presence of this lamp in ones home.

    WHO WAS ANGELICA KAUFFMANN?

Angelica Kauffman was Swiss Neoclassical painter 1741-1807, who painted in the Rococo style and whose works have been widely reproduced.  She was a child prodigy and well-known by the age of 11 for her artistic and musical talents. The world was in love with her paintings and consequently many European factories transferred and hand painted her scenes onto porcelains and used her signature. This was a very vogue practice during the Art Nouveau Period (1880-1920) in Europe.
