COMMENT: Such feminine porcelain was typical of The Art Nouveau Period. All the various Limoges factories of France were famous for such lovely hand painted underglaze porcelain. Such floral decoration was extremely popular with the War brides. Almost every household of upward mobility possessed an entire set of such dinnerware. Indeed a real treat to feast ones eyes upon!

CONDITION: There is a tiny chip on the edge of the platter section of the piece which can be easily restored professionally. It measures about 1/4". Other than this, there are no other faults with the piece. Therefore we are offering this Limoges Porcelain Sauce Boat in "as is" condition. A mint condition one like this pattern goes for $300.00 upward.

SHORT HISTORY OF ELITE-LIMOGES PORCELAIN

Porcelain production was interrupted during World War I. Shortly after the war, they bought the William Guerin Company, which had purchased the Pouyat Company. The company now became Guerin-Pouyat-Elite which continued use of all three company marks. The company closed in 1932, leaving behind an illustrious history of having been a premier producer, decorator and merchandiser of exquisite Limoges porcelain.
