AYNSLEY BONE CHINA VINTAGE SUGAR AND CREAMER [SOLD]
This petite hand-painted Aynsley English vintage bone china sugar and creamer set is executed in the style of the old English shapes with Autumn red and blue floral decoration with an interesting blue-bell border at top edge of each piece. It dates approximately 1960.

Such petite sugar and creamer sets were very vogue in the Late Fifties and Early Sixties.
English china companies such as Hammersley, Aynsley and Royal Albert were renowned for manufacture of pretty and petite or mini sugar and creamer sets to appease the lady of the house upon repose to the bedroom as she awaited breakfast in bed.
COMMENT: Such vintage sugar and creamer sets are charming accent pieces for the breakfast-in-bed affair or simply charming affordable accent pieces for the china cabinet.
MANUFACTURER: John Aynsley & Sons, Ltd. This china company began at the Portland Works, Longton, Staffordshire Potteries in 1864. Early wares were unmarked. Mark located on page 44 of The ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BRITISH POTTERY AND PORCELAIN MARKS by GEOFFREY A. GODDEN, F.R.S.A. MCMLXIV, Schiffer Publishing Company Ltd.
