This Attractive Designer Vintage Costume 'Rope Heart' Design Brooch Is Well Crafted On A Gold Tone Metal Base And Has Nice Weight. It carries the Alfred Sung Signature. It measures 1 5/8" Length. It dates approximately 1980.

HISTORY OF ALFRED SUNG
Alfred Sung is known in Canada basically as a Canadian clothing designer and eventually like many designers went into fashion jewelry. Alfred was known for his classically elegant line of bridal gowns. His jewelry has a minimalist feel as well as many of his clothing designs which seemed to have appealed to the sophisticated woman. He was born in Shanghai in 1948. He studied in Paris, France in 1972. In 1976 he moved to Canada and opened his first shop called Moon. In 1981 he launched his first label through Saks of 5th. Ave., New York. In 1982, he opened his first shop in Hazelton Lanes, Toronto, Canada. Before his first shop opened, he designed for The Dessy Group, originally known as A & M Rosenthal, est. 1939. This was a famous wedding gown shop at the Plaza Hotel, Toronto, Canada.
